I have a vivid memory of my dad and my husband picking figs off the trees in Fontana Liri, Italy, the place where my Nonno grew up. The excitement on their faces was priceless. The figs were so sweet. They picked hand fulls off the trees and ate them like candy. I couldn’t help but laugh at how much joy these figs brought. My dad was always so proud of the town that my Nonno grew up in and he was so excited to take us there to show us the famous fig tree that he remembered as a child. My family is very passionate about figs — as you can tell. They’re always on the hunt for the perfect one ;)
